About the club
Jemeppe Modelism has been founded in October 1976 by a small group of history and model-building enthusiasts from Liège, Belgium. At the beginning, meetings were held every Tuesday evening in a premise by the municipal library of the Château de Courtejoie, located in Jemeppe-sur-Meuse. It was immediately decided that the club would be - and keep being - as ‘generalist’ as possible and would welcome warmly the various ‘genres’ of static modelling and model makers of any age, including beginners. The club grew up quickly and held in 1977 its first exhibition, still in the premise of the Château de Courtejoie, on its first anniversary.
In the 1980's, our club became one of the country's most active modelling clubs, by organising for example two National Conventions in the name of IPMS Belgium, two huge model shows in Coronmeuse, Belgium, by drawing up an impressive list of themed exhibitions, organised with many private and public partners, an annual exhibition in Jemeppe or in Seraing, Belgium and by sending sales representatives to many exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.
Nowadays, as Jemeppe Modelism will soon approach its 50th anniversary, the original values are still intact. We are still and always taking part to many events in Belgium and abroad and we are preparing to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a great event during the first weekend of May 2027!
In addition to a workshop and a meeting room, our premises are home to a small museum that tells almost 50 years of the club's active life!

Life at the club
Our premises are located in the old school "les 4 ruelles" in Jemeppe-sur-Meuse (1, rue Rousseau, 4101 Jemeppe-sur-Meuse, Belgium).
The members of our club meets every Wednesday evening between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. We discuss about the club's activities and present the different members' projects in the form of presentations. These various presentations allow the exchange of information, ideas, advice, technics, etc. and help keeping the club open to all 'disciplines' of modelling. You can find the photos taken during these presentations in the albums "Our Realisations".
Our club also organises workshops on many Saturdays between 2pm and 6pm. Professional tools can be used by the club's members during these workshops.
Our club takes part to many events in Belgium and abroad, presenting our work in competition or in exhibition. When the event takes place on Saturday, there is no workshop in our rooms.
The annual membership fee (January to December) is 30 euros, with a sliding scale for those joining during the year.
We have a physical and virtual library of more than 30.000 items and much more documents and 3D printing files. These are available to all club's members. Each member can help to enrich our site by adding presentations, kit summaries and feature articles in one of the tabs "A bit of...".
